Autism Asperger Centre of Excellence!

Our vision is big and targets a growing abyss
in the ACT's services systems.

The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Centre of Excellence will be a specific centre in Canberra for people with an ASD. Currently there is no facility in our region that meets the range of current and future needs for people with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

We intend that this centre will attract quality researchers, providers and services to our region that will encompass:

Support

information, support and services;

therapy and psychological services;

accommodation and respite.

Education and awareness

education and training for families, carers, teachers and other service providers;

assistance to access the work force and other
post-school options ;

publicity for and community awareness of ASD.

Research

epidemiology;

evaluation of current and future practices;

research and delivery.

Advocacy and leadership

policy development;

systemic and individual advocacy;

filling the void: taking a leadership role.
